Casting Iron Use FeSi Lump 75 72 10-50mm 50-100mm Ferrosilicon 75% 72% Ferro Silicon
Ferro Silicon (FeSi) is an alloy of iron and silicon, widely used in steel production and casting, especially as a source of silicon for reducing metal oxides and deoxidizing steel and other iron alloys. FeSi helps improve the hardness and deoxidizing properties of steel products, while increasing strength and quality.
Ferro Silicon (Fe-Si) is an iron alloy with iron (Fe) and silicon (Si) as the main elements. Ferroalloys usually contain 15% to 90% Si. Common Silicon Ferro contents on the market are 15%, 45%, 65%, 75%, and 90%. The remainder is Fe, along with about 2% of other elements such as aluminum (Al) and calcium (Ca).
Industrially, Iron Silicon alloys are produced by the carbothermal reduction of silicon dioxide (SiO2) with carbon (C) in the presence of iron ore, scrap iron, scale, or other iron sources. The smelting of Fe Silicon alloys is a continuous process carried out in an electric submerged arc furnace (SAF) using self-baking electrodes.
