Process of producing ferrosilicon
Ferrosilicon (ferro silicon) is an alloy mainly composed of silicon and iron. It is a commonly used ferroalloy used in the steel industry, especially in the production of stainless steel. Ferrosilicon can improve the hardness and strength of steel and has certain corrosion resistance. In addition, ferrosilicon can also be used to prepare sodium silicate, dyes and reducing agents for silicate glass, etc.
Process of producing ferrosilicon:
1. Ironmaking: reducing iron ore to pig iron in a blast furnace
2. Smelting: reacting pig iron with high-purity silica to produce ferrosilicon
3. Casting: pouring molten ferrosilicon into a mold and solidifying it into blocks after cooling.
4. Processing: crushing and grinding the ferrosilicon blocks to obtain ferrosilicon products of different specifications
