The reaction characteristics of pure magnesium powder and water were studied by simulating the high temperature environment of the engine (600~900°C) by using a tube furnace, and the relationship between reaction rate and temperature, particle size of magnesium powder and the influence of additives on the reaction were obtained. The results showed that the reaction rate of the Mg/H2O reaction increased with the increase of temperature and the decrease of particle size, and the additives had a promoting effect on the reaction, and the apparent activation energy of the Mg/H2O reaction was 24.67 kJ/mol.
