1.Aiming at the problems of low efficiency and uneven packaging quality of manual packaging of cored wire coils, an automatic packaging machine for cored wire coils with a maximum mass of 1500 kg was designed. Methods According to the main parameters and packaging process of the cored wire coils, the structure of the packaging machine was designed in combination with the actual requirements of the cored wire coils in the packaging process, including film preparation device, heat sealing device, welding system, and air pressure system. Results A complete automatic packaging machine for cored wire coils with an overall size of 3200 mm×1200 mm×2000 mm was designed, and the simulation of the packaging machine assembly and the debugging of the air pressure system were completed. The simulation results show that the speed of the large and small film tractors is 0.11-0.5 m/s; the finite element analysis results of the key component U-shaped hook show that the maximum displacement occurs at the bottom of the U-shaped hook, and its maximum equivalent stress is 29.871 MPa. The strength of the device meets the design requirements. Conclusion Summarizing the current problems of cored wire packaging, the packaging machine was innovatively designed and optimized by simulation from the perspective of meeting the sustainable needs of enterprises, realizing the automation and standardized packaging of cored wire coils, and saving labor costs for enterprises.
