As a method of molten steel refining, wire feeding technology is a common process in the production of ductile iron and vermicular cast iron, and has been widely used at home and abroad. The cored wire is the raw material for the implementation of the wire feeding process. This paper systematically introduces the forming process, types and development status of cored wire forming equipment at home and abroad, various cored wire forming technologies and production equipment, and the cored wire machine with high forming speed, high degree of automation and automatic quantitative feeding will be the development direction of cored wire production technology in the future.

1.Aiming at the production of large ductile iron parts for large injection molding machine parts, the wire feeding method was used to spheroidize and inoculate the molten iron, and the influence of nano-SiC inoculated cored wire on the inoculation effect, organization and mechanical properties of large ductile iron castings was studied. The experimental results show that the inoculation of large ductile iron parts by nano-SiC cored wire can effectively slow down the inoculation decay of large ductile iron parts. Compared with the traditional ferrosilicon inoculation treatment, the graphite spheroidization rate, spheroidization grade and graphitization in the structure of the treated castings are improved. At the same time, the matrix structure grains are more refined, and the mechanical properties of the castings are also significantly improved.
