Physical and Chemical Properties:
Electrolytic manganese refers to the pure metal obtained by acid-leaching manganese ore to extract manganese salt, which is then subjected to electrolysis in an electrolytic cell. It resembles iron, appearing as irregular flakes that are hard and brittle, with one side shiny and the other rough. Its color ranges from silver-white to brown, and it turns silver-gray when processed into powder. It is easily oxidized in air, dissolves in dilute acid while releasing hydrogen, and can decompose water and release hydrogen at slightly elevated temperatures above room temperature.
