Products Description
Electrolytic manganese flakes are flaky manganese metals made by electrolysis of manganese salt solutions. They have good electrical conductivity and plasticity. Electrolytic manganese flakes look like iron, are irregular flakes, are hard and brittle, have a shiny side and a rough side, are silvery white to brown, and are silver gray after being processed into powder. They are easily oxidized in the air, dissolve and displace hydrogen when encountering dilute acid, and can decompose water and release hydrogen when slightly above room temperature. They have high purity and good chemical stability, and can react with a variety of substances under certain conditions to form compounds with different properties.
The main raw material is manganese ore (including manganese oxide ore and manganese carbonate ore). After pretreatment processes such as beneficiation, crushing, and grinding, manganese ore powder that meets the requirements is obtained. The manganese ore powder is reacted with acid to leach the manganese element to obtain a manganese salt solution. Then, after purification and filtration, a pure electrolyte is obtained. In the electrolytic cell, the manganese salt solution is used as the electrolyte, and the manganese element is precipitated from the solution through the electrolysis process to obtain metallic manganese flakes. The electrolysis process requires strict control of process parameters such as current density, electrolyte temperature, pH value, etc.
As a battery cathode material, electrolytic manganese sheets are widely used in the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, zinc-manganese batteries and other types of batteries. Its high conductivity, high electron saturation mobility, good chemical stability and oxidation resistance help improve the charge and discharge efficiency and cycle life of the battery. Electrolytic manganese flakes are used as alloy additives to make special alloy steels such as manganese-copper alloys and manganese-aluminum alloys, which can significantly improve the hardness, strength and durability of steels. Electrolytic manganese flakes are also used to produce chemical products such as zinc manganate and sodium manganate, and as an oxidant to improve the color and clarity of glass.
