Ferrosilicon Alloys, which belongs to ferroalloy and silicide, contains 15-90% silicon. It appears as a fine granular solid particle with grayish-white color and bubble holes.
There are many types of Silicon Ferro, which are classified by silicon content, such as FeSi90 (containing 87%~95% Si), FeSi 75 (containing 72%~80% Si), FeSi65 (containing 63%~68% Si), FeSi45 (containing 40%~47% Si), FeSi15 (containing 14%~20% Si), etc. According to different applications, there are regulations on impurities such as Al, Ca, S, P, C, Mn, Cr, etc.
The binary phase diagram of Fesi Ferrosilicon is shown in Figure 1 below. The compounds composed of silicon and iron include Fe3Si, Fe5Si3, FeSi, FeSi2, etc. The melting temperature range of 75 ferrosilicon (FeSi 75) is 13001330°C, and the melting temperature range of 45 ferrosilicon (FeSi 45) is 12501360°C.
The density of Fe Silicon decreases as the silicon content increases. The silicon content of Ferrosilicon 75 can be quickly determined by using secondary characteristics.
