How to judge the condition of ferrosilicon furnace

 

 

Ferrosilicon is a kind of ferroalloy that is difficult to smelt. Careful operation is important, but it is also necessary to correctly judge the furnace condition and deal with it in time. The signs of normal ferrosilicon smelting furnace condition are: stable electric furnace load, deep and stable insertion of electrodes into the charge, normal electrode roasting, and normal lowering amount; the flame at the furnace mouth is light yellow, uniform and active, and the flame area is wide; the charge is soft, the charge surface height is moderate, and the charge sinks evenly; the temperature at the furnace mouth is low; the iron outlet is easy to open and block, the iron outlet is smooth, the molten iron flow head is large, and a small amount of liquid slag can be discharged; the alloy composition is stable and the output is high. In actual production, sometimes due to inaccurate charge weighing, changes in coke particle size and fluctuations in moisture, the reducing agent in the furnace is excessive or insufficient, resulting in abnormal furnace conditions.

 

The main characteristics of excess reducing agent are: in the early stage, the current is stable and gradually increases, and the electrode is lifted; in the later stage, the electrode insertion depth is very shallow, the material surface is loose, and the sintering is poor; the material collapse is serious, the material surface is black when the fire is ignited, and blue flames appear around the material surface when the fire is not ignited, and the flame is long: the iron outlet is difficult to open, the molten iron temperature is low, the flow head is not smooth, and the slag is difficult to discharge. When the reducing agent is in excess for a long time, a large amount of silicon carbide is formed in the furnace and accumulated at the bottom of the furnace, and the bottom of the furnace rises.
