Good Price Ferro Silicon Si 45% for Steel Making FeSi Products
All grades of Ferro Silicon are produced using essentially the same process, but certain additional steps are required to produce higher purity grades of ferrosilicon. These grades are produced using raw materials that contain fewer impurities.
Additionally, liquid FeSi ferrosilicon is refined in a ladle to remove unwanted impurities and add special alloying elements. This further processing to produce higher purity ferrosilicon is referred to as ladle metallurgy. Special-grade 15% ferrosilicon for heavy media applications is typically produced by remelting 75% FeSi ferrosilicon with scrap steel in an electric arc furnace and casting it into a high-pressure water spray.
Ferro silicon is typically classified into four grades. They are (i) standard grade, (ii) low aluminum grade, (iii) low carbon grade, and (iv) high purity grade with low Ti content. Standard grade Fe-Si can contain up to 2% aluminum, while low aluminum grade has an Al content of up to 0.5%. Fe-Si contains a high proportion of iron silicides.
