Description of ferro silicon
Ferrosilicon alloy is an iron-silicon alloy made of coke, steel scraps, quartz (or silica) as raw materials and smelted in an electric furnace. Because silicon and oxygen are easy to synthesize silica, ferrosilicon is often used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking, and because SiO2 releases a large amount of heat when it is generated, it is also beneficial to increase the temperature of molten steel while deoxidizing.
At the same time, ferrosilicon can also be used as an alloying element additive, widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel, ferrosilicon is often used as a reducing agent in ferroalloy production and chemical industry.

General steel contains 0.15%-0.35% silicon; Silicon content in structural steel is 0.40%~1.75%; Silicon content in tool steel is 0.30%~1.80%; Spring steel contains 0.40%~2.80% silicon; Stainless acid-resistant steel contains 3.40%~4.00% silicon; Heat-resistant steel contains 1.00%~3.00% silicon; Silicon steel contains 2%~3% silicon or higher. The amount of silicon in different steels is also different.
3. In the steelmaking industry, each ton of steel consumes about 3~5kg of ferrosilicon, accounting for 75% of the total.
