High Purity Ferro Silicon Nitride for Steelmaking with Exceptional Refractory Properties
Due to the presence of Si3N4, ferro-silicon nitride exhibits excellent properties such as high refractoriness, good corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength, good thermal shock resistance, low thermal expansion, and strong oxidation resistance. Furthermore, its plastic phase (Fe) confers good sintering properties.
Compared to pure silicon nitride, ferro-silicon nitride is less costly and suitable for industrial-scale production, making it a valuable raw material for refractory materials, high-temperature bonding phases, and high-temperature structural materials. It is widely used in blast furnace trough castables and gunning mixes.
