Flash combustion synthesis method: Also known as the vertical continuous combustion synthesis method, this method was initially applied in the field of metal nitrides and later introduced into the refractory materials field for ferro silicon nitride. In this method, fine powder particles of ferro-silicon alloy react with ascending nitrogen gas flow, releasing a large amount of heat to maintain a self-sustaining reaction. The flash combustion synthesis method is efficient, and the obtained ferro-silicon nitride does not contain free silicon. The product has high purity and low cost, making it suitable for large-scale continuous production.
Self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) method: Also known as the combustion synthesis method, this method utilizes highly exothermic chemical reactions between reactants for self-heating and self-propagation to synthesize materials. The FeSiN prepared by this method contains components such as β-Si3N4, α-Si3N4, Si2N2O, and FexSi. Its microstructure consists of dense silicon nitride blocks covered with a thin film of Si2N2O, with fine silicon nitride crystals embedded in the dense blocks. This method has low production costs and is suitable for industrial production, but it has strict operational procedures, complex processes, difficult-to-control nitridation reactions, high nitridation pressure, high equipment requirements, difficulty in continuous production, and low product yield.
