Products Description

 

Ferro Titanium 40 is an alloy material mainly composed of iron and titanium, which contains a large amount of titanium element. Titanium iron also contains impurities such as aluminum, silicon, carbon, sulfur, phosphorus, manganese, etc.

In the steelmaking process, titanium iron is added as an alloying element to the steel, which can refine the grain structure, fix interstitial elements (such as carbon and nitrogen), and improve the strength of the steel.

Titanium iron is also used as a deoxidizer, desulfurizer, and degassing agent. In the smelting of stainless steel and heat-resistant steel, the compound formed by the combination of titanium and carbon can prevent the formation of chromium carbide, reduce intergranular corrosion, and improve the welding performance of chromium nickel stainless steel.

 

The raw materials for industrial production of titanium iron include titanium iron concentrate (Fe-TiO3), rutile (TiO2), titanium dioxide (TiO2), and waste titanium metal materials (Ti, Ti-V-Al, etc.). Except for waste titanium metal materials, all materials need to be reduced with reducing agents to obtain titanium iron and titanium alloys. TiO2 is a relatively difficult to reduce oxide. Reducing TiO2 with carbon can only be achieved at high temperatures and generates TiC instead of Ti.

The high titanium iron currently supplied on the international market is mainly (Ti)<68-72%, (Al)<4.0%, (Si)<0.5%, (N)<0.4%, (C)<0.1%, (S) )<0.015%, (P)<0.02% of high-quality high-titanium iron, this high-titanium iron is produced by titanium chip remelting method. This method is also used in China to produce high titanium iron, but the cost is very high.

In order to reduce steelmaking costs, domestic steel companies have appropriately lowered their requirements when purchasing high-titanium iron. The high-titanium iron used by manufacturers to produce IF steel requires: (Ti)>65%, (Al)<4.5%, (Si)<0.5 %, (Al)<4.0%, (Si)<0.5%.
