Products Description
Ferrotitanium is an intermediate alloy of iron and titanium containing 20% ~ 75% titanium obtained by reduction or remelting. The main components of ferrotitanium are titanium and iron, in addition, it also contains impurities such as aluminum, silicon, carbon, sulfur, phosphorus and manganese. The melting point of ferrotitanium is between 1400 and 1500 degrees because of its different chemical composition.

Ferrotitanium is one of the important additives in metallurgical production, which is often used as deoxidizer, denitrogener and alloy additive to improve the properties of cast iron. The deoxidation ability of titanium is much greater than that of silicon and manganese, which can reduce the segregation of steel ingot, thus improving the quality of steel ingot and increasing the yield. High titanium ferroalloy is an indispensable alloy material for smelting high-temperature alloy and high quality stainless steel. Titanium has strong corrosion resistance. If titanium is added to stainless steel, only about 1% is needed, and the rust resistance of stainless steel can be greatly improved.

Titanium-iron alloy is widely used in the production of chain steel, shipbuilding steel, stainless steel, electronics and military industry because of its excellent wear resistance and tensile strength. Pure titanium is a kind of silver-gray metal with metallic luster. The powder is dark gray and has good ductility when heated. The raw materials used to produce ferrotitanium and metallic titanium are rutile, ilmenite, vanadium-titanium magnetite and ilmenite. Titanium has the advantages of high strength and light weight, and its heat resistance and corrosion resistance are also very good. It is precisely because of these advantages that titanium and its alloys were first widely used in the manufacture of aircraft, rockets, missiles, ships, etc., and then began to be popularized in chemical and petroleum departments. About half of the world's titanium is used to make important parts of aircraft fuselage and jet engine.
