Description of Ferrotitanium alloy
Ferro titanium is an alloy of titanium and iron that can be obtained by melting scrap titanium together with steel or iron in an induction furnace. It has low density, high strength, and excellent corrosion resistance.
The melting point of ferrotitanium ranges from 1400℃ to 1500℃ due to its different chemical composition, and its density is 5.7-6.4g/cm3.

Developed countries such as Russia and Western Europe mainly use the remelting method to produce high titanium iron. In recent years, there have been new developments in the remelting process, and a process for preparing high titanium iron by smelting in a lined electro-slag furnace has emerged. This process was developed based on the principles and advantages of electro-slag remelting. It can eliminate the complex vacuum system of induction furnaces and consumable electric arc furnaces, reduce costs, and greatly simplify production operations. The quality of high-titanium iron produced by the remelting method is already very stable, especially in the control of oxygen content. However, because it uses scrap titanium as raw material, the source of raw materials is limited, the production cost is too high, and it is greatly affected by market prices.
