Description of Ferro titanium alloy
Ferro titanium is an alloy of titanium and iron that can be obtained by melting scrap titanium together with steel or iron in an induction furnace. It has low density, high strength, and excellent corrosion resistance.
The melting point and density of ferrotitanium depend on its titanium content. It has good resistance to abrasion, good resistance to corrosion, high specific gravity, and high magnetism.

The Aluminothermic Process is commonly used in the production of ferrotitanium. This method has a wide source of raw materials, low energy consumption, and low production costs as well. However, due to the high oxygen content, the low recovery rate of titanium, and the substandard content of impurity elements such as Al and Si, the use of this method to produce high titanium iron is restricted.
