Ferro Vanadium Premium Quality

The technology of electrosilicothermic smelting ferro vanadium premium quality is a very mature technology. The smelting is carried out in an electric arc furnace, which is divided into a reduction period and a refining period. The reduction period is further divided into two-stage smelting and three-stage smelting methods. Excess ferrosilicon is used to reduce the refined slag in the upper furnace until the VOs content in the slag is less than 0.35%. The waste slag is discharged from the furnace and refining begins. Then, vanadium pentoxide and lime are added for refining. When the Si content in the alloy is less than 2%, it is discharged from the furnace. The discharged refined slag contains V, Os10%~15%, which is returned to the lower furnace for use.

Vanadium is a single metal with a silver-grey color and a body-centered cubic lattice. It has been found that it has multiple transformations at 1550℃ and -28~-38℃. The mechanical properties of vanadium are closely related to its purity and production methods. Impurities such as O, H, N, and C will make it brittle, while a small amount can increase its hardness and shear force, but reduce its ductility.
