Low Phosphorus Ferrovanadium
The oxidation dephosphorization of ferrovanadium is often achieved by blowing oxygen in the later stage of ferrovanadium smelting. Oxidation dephosphorization is achieved by using strong alkaline slag with large phosphorus capacity (such as alkali metal and alkaline earth metal oxide-based slag, etc.). In the process of oxidation dephosphorization, phosphorus is oxidized and separated from the metal into the slag phase in the form of phosphate.
Under vanadium smelting conditions, the thermodynamic order of oxidation of each element is Si, C, Fe, V, P, that is, P is the last element to be oxidized thermodynamically in ferrovanadium smelting. A large number of experiments and production practices have shown that it is impossible to dephosphorize by oxidation technology without expensive metal loss. From the relationship between the free energy of metal oxidation and temperature, it can be seen that the oxidation dephosphorization of ferroalloy elements such as manganese, chromium, and vanadium is difficult to achieve. A large amount of data shows that the efficiency of oxidation dephosphorization of ferroalloys is very low, the metal loss is large, and its application is limited.
