Products Description
Ferrovanadium is a master alloy with a vanadium content of at least 50% produced by reduction of the raw materials with carbon or aluminum. The high affinity of vanadium for carbon leads to carbide formation, so that carbothermic reduction can only be used when there is no requirement for vanadium with low carbon content. The reaction of V2O5 with aluminum is self-sustaining and the combustion time is only a few minutes. After cooling, the furnace is dismantled, and the block of metal is cleaned, then crushed to the desired particle size.
Ferrovanadium is an important alloy product containing vanadium, which is typically used as a furnace ingredient in steel metallurgy processes. It is common to use ferrovanadium with either 40%, 60%, or 80% V, where the uncertainty in the vanadium content needs to be small, and the C, S, and P contents are strictly limited. The producers can select the other ingredients depending on the requirements of the user
