Applications of Ferrovanadium Powder
FeVanadium powder is an important alloy additive in the steel industry. It can improve the strength, toughness, plasticity and heat resistance of steel. Since the 1960s, the application of ferrovanadium in the steel industry has increased dramatically, accounting for 85% of fervanadium consumption by 1988. The consumption proportion of iron and vanadium in steel is 20% for carbon steel, 25% for high-strength low-alloy steel, 20% for alloy steel, and 15% for tool steel. High-strength low-alloy steel (HSLA) containing ferrovanadium is widely used in the production and construction of oil/gas pipelines, buildings, bridges, tracks, pressure vessels, carriage frames, etc. due to its high strength.
Among non-ferrous alloys, it is mainly used to produce vanadium-titanium-iron alloys, such as Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-6Al-6V-2Sn, etc.
