Application of vanadium nitrogen alloy
Vanadium nitrogen alloy is a new type of alloy additive, which can replace ferrovanadium in the production of microalloyed steels. Vanadium nitride is added to steel to improve the strength, toughness, ductility and thermal fatigue resistance of steel, and make the steel have good weldability. At the same strength, the addition of vanadium nitride saves 30~40% of vanadium addition, thereby reducing the cost Vanadium is a rare metal with high melting point refractory, and its main product forms are vanadium trioxide, ferrovanadium, vanadium nitride, etc. Among them, vanadium trioxide is the most important vanadium oxide in actual production, and they are the main raw materials for the preparation of subsequent vanadium products such as ferrovanadium, vanadium nitride and vanadium carbide. Vanadium products are divided into primary, secondary and tertiary products. Primary products include vanadium-bearing minerals, concentrates, vanadium slag, spent catalysts for end-of-life petroleum refining, end-of-life catalysts and other residues. Secondary products include, and can also be, a usable industrial product, i.e. catalysts for production and catalysts for petroleum refining. Tertiary products include ferrovanadium, vanadium-aluminum alloys, molybdenum-vanadium-aluminum alloys, silicon-manganese-vanadium-iron alloys and vanadium compounds, of which ferrovanadium is the most important vanadium material, accounting for 85% of vanadium consumption.

Vanadium nitrogen alloys can be used in structural steels, tool steels, pipe steels, steel bars and cast iron. Vanadium-nitrogen alloy can be used in high-strength low-alloy steel to effectively microalloy vanadium and nitrogen at the same time, promote the precipitation of carbon, vanadium and nitrogen compounds in steel, and play a more effective role in sedimentation, strengthening and grain refinement. It has a more effective effect of strengthening and refining grains than ferrovanadium, saving the amount of vanadium added, and the vanadium nitrogen alloy can save 20-40% vanadium compared with ferrovanadium under the same strength conditions. The yield of vanadium and nitrogen is stable, which reduces the performance fluctuation of steel. It is easy to use and has less loss. Taking the construction industry as an example, the new tertiary steel bar produced by vanadium nitrogen alloying technology not only enhances the safety and seismic resistance of the building due to its improved strength, but also saves 10%~15% of steel compared with the use of secondary steel bar. For this alone, China can reduce the use of about 7.5 million tons of steel bars every year, about 12.4 million tons of iron ore concentrate is mined, 6.6 million tons of coal are saved, 3.3 million tons of related auxiliary raw materials are saved, and at the same time, the emission of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide and other waste gases is greatly reduced, and the dual benefits of resource conservation and environmental protection are obtained.
