One of the production processes of tungsten wire is drawing
Drawing - Approximately 0.10 inches of wrought wire can now be drawn through the die to reduce diameter.
The wire is lubricated and drawn through a tungsten carbide or diamond die. The exact reduction in diameter depends on the exact chemical composition and end use of the wire.
When drawing, the fibers stretch again and the tensile strength increases. At some stages, the wire may need to be annealed for further processing. Can draw wire as small as 0.0005 inches in diameter.
