Metal silicon 553, also known as silicon-53 or RTV553, is a product smelted in a submerged arc furnace by the carbon thermal method. Its main component is silicon, which is usually more than 98%. The remaining impurities mainly include iron, aluminum, calcium and other elements, with specific contents of iron about 0.5% (or ≤0.49%), aluminum about 0.5% (or ≤0.45%), and calcium about 0.3% (or ≤0.14%). The content of these impurities will vary depending on the production process and raw materials.
