Silicon metal 441 is a kind of low-carbon metallic silicon, which is mainly used to produce high-quality casting materials such as calcium silicate and silicon-aluminum alloy. Because of its high purity and good physical properties, it is widely used in the field of alloy casting.

Silica is one of the main raw materials for the production of silicon metal, which is mainly composed of silicon dioxide (SiO₂). In the production process, silica needs pretreatment steps such as washing, screening and drying to remove impurities and improve its purity. Reducing agent plays a key role in the production of silicon metal, which is used to reduce silicon dioxide in silica to silicon. Commonly used reducing agents include carbonaceous materials such as coke and charcoal. In addition to silica and reductant, other auxiliary materials, such as flux and additives, may be used in the production of metallic silicon to improve production conditions and product quality.

Silica and reducing agents are mixed according to a certain proportion and then put into an electric heating furnace for a high-temperature reduction reaction. During the reaction, silicon dioxide is reduced to silicon by a reducing agent, and carbon monoxide and other gases are generated at the same time. With the progress of the reaction, silicon is gradually deposited on the bottom of the furnace to form silicon blocks, while the gas is discharged through the top of the furnace. The obtained silicon block can be crushed, screened and other subsequent treatments, and the metal silicon products that meet the requirements can be obtained.

Producing silicon metal requires a lot of electricity and fuel. The level of energy cost not only affects the production cost, but also may affect the temperature control and reaction rate in the production process, thus affecting the quality of silicon metal.
