High Carbon Silicon Introduction
High-carbon silicon is made by melting ferrosilicon alloys with high-carbon raw materials such as coke or coal in an electric arc furnace. It has excellent deoxidising, desulphurising and carbon-enhancing effects and is widely used in the metallurgical and foundry industries.

1. Steel making industry:
Deoxidiser: High carbon silicon is used as a deoxidiser in the steelmaking process. It can effectively remove oxygen from steel, reduce oxide inclusions, and improve the quality and purity of steel.
Carbon Enhancer: High Carbon Silicon can also be used as a carbon enhancer to regulate the carbon content in the steel so as to achieve the desired steel properties.
2. Foundry industry:
Modifier: High-carbon silicon is used in the production of cast iron as a modifier, which can improve the mechanical properties and casting quality of cast iron, and increase the hardness, strength and wear resistance of castings.
Pregnant: In the production process of grey cast iron and ductile iron, high carbon silicon is used as a pregnant agent to refine the graphite morphology and improve the mechanical properties and casting performance of cast iron.

6. Environmental protection:
Desulphurisation agent: High-carbon silicon is used in industrial flue gas desulphurisation, which can effectively remove sulphides from flue gas and reduce environmental pollution.
