Similarly, silicon nitride iron for steelmaking can also be classified by features into ordinary silicon nitride iron for steelmaking and high-purity silicon nitride iron for steelmaking. Ordinary silicon nitride iron appears grayish-white, while stabilized silicon nitride iron appears brownish-yellow. Refractory material silicon nitride iron has a clean surface without obvious foreign impurities. The particle size of ordinary silicon nitride iron for refractory materials is 200 mesh, while that of stabilized silicon nitride iron for refractory materials is 325 mesh. The surface of silicon nitride iron for steelmaking also needs to be clean, with no obvious foreign impurities. In short, powdered silicon nitride iron is mainly used in the clay for plugging large blast furnace openings, with small amounts used in iron groove materials or other unshaped refractory materials. At the same time, silicon nitride iron is also an additive in the production of cold-rolled unidirectional silicon steel sheets. Silicon nitride iron is a new type of refractory raw material that can replace more expensive silicon nitride, used in waterless clay for large blast furnaces; it has excellent opening properties, sintering aid properties, erosion resistance, and low-cost characteristics.
