White Solid Silicon Slag

Silicon slag is a water-containing mixture obtained by alkali melting, acid leaching and water solubilization of zircon sand, which is a colloidal polymer with high water content, with light yellow-green appearance, sponge-like, strong adsorption and complex structure.

1.Silicon slag can be divided into 6 different models and specifications due to its different silicon content. These six different silica slags differ only in the content of silicon, but in other elements such as aluminum, sulfur, phosphorus and carbon.

2.The production of silicon slag is still relatively complicated, in the production of alumina, after the crude liquid is desiliconized, the solution contains a large number of impurities such as silica slag and red mud, which cannot be directly decomposed. In order to make the alumina meet the standards stipulated by the state, the crude liquid must be clarified and separated after desiliconization to make a pure and transparent sodium aluminate solution. When dealing with the desiliconized solution, a leaf filter or filter press is commonly used in the industry to separate the silica slag in the desiliconized solution.

3.Although silicon slag is a residue after treatment, it also has value and can be utilized. For example, silica slag can be used to make white carbon black, and can also be used as cement accessories for building materials or ordinary refractory bricks.
