Electrolytic manganese, also known as electrolytic manganese metal, is a single metal obtained by acid leaching manganese ore to obtain manganese salt, and then sent to the electrolytic cell for electrolysis. The purity of electrolytic manganese is very high, containing more than 99.7% manganese, sulfur ≤0.05%, phosphorus <0.05%, and carbon <0.04%.

Electrolytic manganese looks like iron, in irregular flakes, hard and brittle, shiny on one side and rough on the other side, silver-white to brown, and silver-gray after being processed into powder; it is easily oxidized in the air, dissolves and replaces hydrogen when encountering dilute acid, and can decompose water and release hydrogen when slightly above room temperature. The product is packaged in iron drums or flexible container bags.
