Products Description
Ferromanganese is an iron alloy made of manganese and iron elements. The chemical properties of manganese are more active than iron. When manganese is added to molten steel, it can react with ferrous oxide to form oxide slag that is insoluble in molten steel and floats on the surface of molten steel, reducing the oxygen content in the steel.
Ferromanganese is mainly divided into high-carbon ferromanganese, medium-carbon ferromanganese, and low-carbon ferromanganese.

Application
Ferromanganese has a wide range of applications, mainly in the steelmaking and foundry industries. Ferromanganese is usually used as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer. Good steel requires smelting, deoxidation, and desulfurization, and the use of a deoxidizer will greatly increase its cost. Ferromanganese is a cheap deoxidizer. Desulfurization refers to harmful substances such as steel sulfur, and ferromanganese can achieve the purpose of desulfurization.
Manganese and its compounds are used in various fields of the national economy. Among them, the steel industry is the most important field, with manganese consumption accounting for 90% to 95%. It is mainly used as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer in the ironmaking and steelmaking processes and is used to make alloys. The remaining manganese is used in other fields, for example, the chemical industry (manufacturing various manganese-containing salts).
