The main feature of ferrosilicon 75 is its silicon content, specifically, the silicon content is usually not less than 75%, which is also the origin of its name "ferrosilicon 75". In addition to silicon and iron as the main components, ferrosilicon 75 may also contain a small number of elements such as aluminum, calcium, manganese and phosphorus, but their contents are relatively low. The density of ferrosilicon 75 usually has a relatively high-density value because of its high silicon content. Its melting point is usually in the melting point range of steel, which makes it easy to mix with other raw materials and melt in the iron and steel smelting process.
Ferrosilicon 75 can be divided into ferrosilicon 75A and ferrosilicon 75B. Ferrosilicon 75A refers to ferrosilicon alloy with a silicon content of about 75%, and may contain a small amount of elements such as aluminum, calcium, manganese and phosphorus. Although ferrosilicon 75B is named 72 ferrosilicon, its silicon content is actually between 72% and 80%, and it has similar physical and chemical characteristics to 75 ferrosilicon, but its silicon content is slightly lower.
Ferrosilicon 75 is widely used as a deoxidizer for removing oxygen and other impurities in iron and steel smelting and improving the purity and quality of steel because of its high silicon content and good deoxidation effect. Silicon in ferrosilicon 75 can provide strong toughness and wear resistance, so it is often used as an additive in the production of special steels, castings and alloys to improve the strength, hardness and corrosion resistance of steel.
