Ferro Phosphorus With A Special Effect

Ferro phosphorus is used as an alloying agent in the steelmaking industry and can also produce phosphates. There are two varieties of ferrophosphorus produced in China: FeP1 and FeP2, which contain 15~20% phosphorus.

1.The origin of ferro phosphorus ：In 1669 Brand discovered phosphorus. In 1826, Bertier produced iron phosphorus. In 1868, Bryson patented the production of phosphorus and phosphoric acid from a blast furnace. In 1929, the blast furnace for the production of thermal phosphoric acid in Victor was put into operation. In the 70s of the 19th century, patents for the smelting of phosphorus and ferrophosphorus by electric furnaces appeared. In 1925, the first 3,000 kW three-phase electric furnace was built in Bitfield to produce phosphorus. Later, the electric furnace became the main equipment for the production of phosphorus.

2.Uses of ferro phosphorus: Ferrophosphorus is a very special metal because phosphorus is a harmful impurity for most steels. But in some cases it has its own special role. For example, the addition of phosphorus to some steel grades can improve the strength, corrosion resistance and machinability of the steel, but increase the brittleness of the steel. The addition of phosphorus to cast iron can improve the fluidity of molten iron, thereby improving the performance and surface quality of castings, and the tensile strength of gray cast iron can be improved by containing 0.5% phosphorus. Wear-resistant cast iron contains about 0.15% phosphorus, which can significantly improve its wear resistance.

3.The ferro phosphorus content of the train brake shoe is 0.7%~1.0%, and a uniform binary phosphorus eutectic structure is formed in the casting, and it is distributed in a network. The high hardness of phosphorus eutectic not only improves its wear resistance, but also improves thermal conductivity and heat resistance. The wear surface is uniform, and it is not easy to produce sparks when rubbing. Iron phosphorus containing 20% phosphorus is ground into ultra-fine powder, which can replace ultra-fine zinc powder as coating. Iron phosphorus is also a protective substance against radioactive radiation
