Additive Ferro Silicon Description
Ferro Silicon Lumps is an alloy of iron and silicon. It is an iron-silicon alloy produced by smelting with coke, steel scrap, and quartz (or silica) as raw materials in an electric furnace. Since silicon and oxygen easily combine to form silicon dioxide, iron-silicon is often used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking, and the large amount of heat released during the formation of SiO2 also helps to increase the temperature of the molten steel.
At the same time, Ferro Silicon Alloy can also be used as an alloying element additive and is widely applied in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel, and electrical steel. In the production of iron alloys and chemical industries, FeSi is commonly used as a reducing agent.
