Properties of Ferrosilicon Nitride
Ferro silicon Nitride Si3N4 is an emerging high-quality refractory material that can replace higher-priced silicon nitride. It is used in tap hole mud for large blast furnaces and features good tap hole opening performance, sintering assistance, corrosion resistance, and low cost.
In all cases, the introduction of Ferrosilicon Nitride Si3N4 improves the high-temperature strength and wear resistance of refractory materials, enhances their thermal stability and oxidation resistance, reduces the coefficient of thermal expansion, and increases thermal conductivity.
Equally important, refractory materials are more resistant to wear from hot metal and slag. Additionally, refractory materials do not shrink during repeated heating. Tap hole mud containing ferrosilicon nitride is most effective for tap holes in enclosed furnaces with large working spaces.
