Foundry Iron Ferrosilicon FeSi

Ferrosilicon is a ferrosilicon alloy composed of silicon and iron in a certain proportion, mainly used in steel smelting and metal magnesium smelting. Adding ferrosilicon to steelmaking will cause a deoxidation reaction: 2Fe0+Si=2Fe+Si02, thereby removing oxygen from the steel and improving the quality of the steel, such as the strength, hardness and elasticity of the steel, and improving the magnetic permeability of the steel. In magnesium smelting, 75# ferrosilicon and other production raw materials replace the magnesium in Mg0 in a reduction tank and under vacuum conditions, and reduce it to crude magnesium. The reaction process is: 2Mg0+Si=2Mg+Si02.

Melting point: 72#-80# ferrosilicon melting point 1290℃-1360℃ 75# ferrosilicon melting point 1300℃
The density of ferrosilicon depends on the silicon content of ferrosilicon. Its density decreases with the increase of silicon content in the alloy. The density of 75# ferrosilicon is 3270Kg/m3.
