Products Description
Ferrophosphorus is a symbiotic compound with a 20-26% phosphorus content and silicon content of 0.1-6%, mainly obtained from phosphorus-making electric furnaces. In the composition of ferrophosphorus, the ratio of phosphorus to silicon can be adjusted as needed to meet different application requirements. In general steel products, phosphorus is usually regarded as a harmful component, but in some special products, the addition of phosphorus can improve some steel properties.

As an important alloying element, ferrophosphorus has wide application value in the foundry industry, by using ferrophosphorus, the quality and properties of castings can be significantly improved, such as enhancing the compactness and strength of castings and reducing defects such as porosity and cracks, thus improving the service life of products. The high strength, high hardness, excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance of ferrophosphorus make it not only improve the product quality but also reduce the production cost. Compared with traditional ferrosilicon and other alloys, the production of ferrophosphorus has low energy consumption and relatively low cost. The use of ferrophosphorus can reduce the alloy cost and improve economic benefits. In addition, due to the excellent performance of ferrophosphorus, the frequency of maintenance and replacement of parts can be reduced, further reducing the overall cost. Therefore, as a high-performance, low-cost, environmentally friendly and sustainable alloy material, ferrophosphorus has a wide application prospect.

In addition, ferrophosphorus has other specific applications. For example, the uniform binary phosphorus eutectic structure formed in the train brake shoe containing 0.7% to 1.0% phosphorus not only improves the wear resistance but also improves the thermal conductivity and heat resistance, so that the wear surface is uniform and sparks are not easily generated during friction. Ferrophosphorus containing 20% phosphorus is ground into ultrafine powder, which can replace ultrafine zinc powder as coating. These characteristics make ferrophosphorus play an irreplaceable role in specific fields.

Too high phosphorus content in ferrophosphorus may cause steel to be brittle when used at room temperature or lower, which is called "cold brittleness". The higher the carbon content of steel, the more serious the brittleness caused by phosphorus. The phosphorus content in ordinary steel is not more than 0.045%, while high-quality steel requires less phosphorus. In addition, the addition of ferrophosphorus can improve the strength and corrosion resistance of steel, but in some cases, too high phosphorus content will reduce the plasticity and toughness of steel and increase the risk of fracture.
