1.Zirconium in ferro zirconium silicon acts similarly to titanium in cast iron. Zirconium carbide can be formed, which is combined with sulfur to form sulfide. Promotes graphite formation when cooling. A small amount of zirconium is conducive to the graphitization of white cast iron, so that the white iron is gray. Shorten the annealing time in the production of ductile cast iron.
2.In ferro zirconium silicon, because zirconium is one of the strongest deoxidizers in steelmaking and the special role of zirconium in steel, ferriconia is used as a deoxidizer and alloy additive in high-temperature alloys, low-alloy high-strength steels, ultra-high-strength steels and cast iron, and then is used in atomic technology, aviation manufacturing, radio technology, etc. Silicon ferriconia can be refined by refining composite Si-containing alloys.
3.The production methods of ferro zirconium silicon mainly include electro-carbon-thermal, electro-silicon-thermal, and electrothermal.
4.The electrosilicon thermal method to produce ferro zirconium silicon is to mix zircon, lime, fluorite, 75% ferrosilicon and iron oxide scale, and smelt it in a carbon brick-lined electric arc furnace. After the furnace temperature rises to 1700°C, stirring and reduction are started. At the end of reduction, when the furnace temperature rises to 1800~1900 °C, it is baked, slag scraped and cast. The composition of ferro-zirconium silicon is: Zr 20%~40%, Si 45%~55%, Al <0.5%, P<0.1%. The recovery rate of zirconium is about 55%. The slag contains ZrO210%~15%, and the alkalinity is 0.8~1.0.
