Description of Ferro titanium alloy
Ferro titanium is an alloy of titanium and iron that can be obtained by melting scrap titanium together with steel or iron in an induction furnace. It has low density, high strength, and excellent corrosion resistance.
The melting point and density of ferrotitanium depend on its titanium content. It has good resistance to abrasion, good resistance to corrosion, high specific gravity, and high magnetism.

The production of ferrotitanium mainly adopts the reduction production process, of which the carbothermal method can only produce high-carbon ferroalloys.
To reduce the consumption of aluminum powder in the production of iron-ferroalloys, the process of producing titanium-ferroalloys by the carbothermal method was developed. The characteristic that distinguishes this process from the aluminothermic process is that the titanium ferroalloy produced has a high carbon content and is not suitable for melting corrosion-resistant alloy steel with low carbon content, but it is suitable for producing ordinary alloy steel with a large output. The outstanding features of this ferrotitanium alloy are its low price and low content of non-ferrous metal impurities.
