Ferrovanadium 80, commonly known as 80 vanadium iron or FeV80, is a high vanadium content iron alloy, mainly composed of iron and vanadium, with a small amount of impurities such as sulfur, phosphorus, silicon, aluminum, etc. The vanadium content of 80 vanadium iron is about 80%, and the iron content is 20%. However, the vanadium content of 80 vanadium iron in actual production may be between 70% and 85%.

80 ferrovanadium is mainly produced by reduction from calcium vanadate (CaO·V2O3) or iron vanadate (FeO·V2O3) slag by aluminothermic method or silicon thermal method, and can also be made by smelting in an electric furnace with vanadium pentoxide as the main raw material. In addition, vanadium trioxide can also be used as a production raw material for ferrovanadium smelting, and it saves 30%~40% of aluminum compared with smelting ferrovanadium with vanadium pentoxide as the raw material, and has the advantages of low cost, high recovery rate and more environmental protection.
