As a member of the vanadium group element in the periodic table of elements, vanadium has an atomic number of 23, an atomic weight of 50.942, a melting point of 1887 degrees, and a boiling point of 3337 degrees.
method of processing: thermite method
Ferrovanadium production methods mainly include the electrosilicothermal method, thermite method, direct alloying of vanadium slag, etc. The thermite method can produce high-quality ferrovanadium alloys. Thermite and electrothermal processes were developed to meet the needs of safe operation.
Aluminum is used as the reducing agent, and the bottom ignition method is used for smelting in a furnace barrel lined with an alkaline furnace. First, put a small part of the mixed charge into the reactor and ignite it. After the reaction starts, add the remaining materials one after another. It is usually used to smelt high-vanadium iron (containing 60-80% vanadium). The recovery rate is slightly lower than that of the silicon thermal method, about 90-95%.

application of the Product
Ferrovanadium can be used as an elemental additive in the smelting of vanadium steel and alloy cast iron. As an alloying agent, vanadium can improve the strength, toughness, and wear resistance of steel, as well as its ability to withstand impact loads and corrosion resistance. 85% to 90% of ferrovanadium is used in steel production.
The vanadium added to cast iron promotes the formation of pearlite due to the formation of carbides, which improves the hardness, tensile strength, and wear resistance of the casting.
