Vanadium pentoxide is an intermediate product of vanadium and is used as a raw material for the production of ferrovanadium, a glass additive/for the production of various catalysts, vanadium-based master alloys and vanadium metal.
Vanadium pentoxide is available in three commercial forms: flakes, powders and granules. Flakes are mainly used in the production of ferrovanadium and vanadium-aluminum master alloys because they have lower ignition loss, lower sulfur and dust content and higher density compared to powders. Powders are used in pigments, catalysts, enamels, carbides, vanadium chemicals and metal production.
