Is ferrotungsten magnetic?
Tungsten is ferromagnetic, which means it is naturally magnetic.
Tungsten is silvery white and has a melting point as high as 3400°C, making it the metal with the highest melting point. The density is 19.3 g/cm3. It is 2.5 times stronger than steel and equivalent to gold. Tungsten has good electrical conductivity and its electrical conductivity is higher than nickel, iron, phosphor bronze, and platinum.
Tungsten has a smaller coefficient of expansion. Tungsten is relatively stable at room temperature. When the temperature is not high, brown and dark blue oxide films are formed on the surface. At higher temperatures, tungsten trioxide is violently oxidized to form tungsten trioxide. When the temperature exceeds 2000°C, tungsten and nitrogen react to form tungsten nitride.
