China ranks first in the world in vanadium resource consumption, but supply exceeds demand
In 2009, against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, my country's vanadium industry developed rapidly, with both output (61,500 tons) and apparent consumption (55,000 tons) exceeding 50% of the international share, making it the world's largest producer and seller. In 2020, my country's vanadium consumption reached 65,600 tons, a year-on-year increase of 22.6%, a five-year high. my country is rich in vanadium resources and as a by-product of steelmaking, it has a large production volume and relatively low total cost. The vanadium market has always been in a state of oversupply, and consumers have a great influence on vanadium pricing, so my country's vanadium prices are mostly low.
