production material
The raw materials for industrially extracting vanadium pentoxide are mainly vanadium-containing coal mines and vanadium-titanium magnetite. The vanadium pentoxide grade of vanadium-containing coal mines is generally 0.5-1.5%, and the vanadium pentoxide grade of vanadium-titanium magnetite is generally 0.5-1.5%. 1.0-5.0%.
Mineral decomposition
There are two types of decomposition methods for vanadium ore. One is the sintering method, which is to mix the crushed ore powder with soda ash or sodium salt and sinter it at a high temperature so that the low-valent vanadium in it is oxidized and converted into pentavalent sodium vanadate, and then water is leached to dissolve the vanadium into the solution; the second is the acid dissolution method, that is, the crushed mineral powder is heated and leached with dilute acid (mainly dilute sulfuric acid) so that the vanadium is directly decomposed into the solution.
Leaching
The sintered material is leached with water so that the vanadium enters the solution in the form of sodium metavanadate. It is filtered and washed. The filtrate is a crude sodium metavanadate solution. The impurities are further purified and separated through chemical precipitation, solvent extraction, and other processes to enrich the vanadium to a certain level. The concentration is generally above 15 g/L.
Shen Fan
After adjusting the pH value of pure metavanadium solution to 6.5-7.5, add four times the theoretical amount of ammonium bicarbonate or ammonium chloride solution as precipitant, control the temperature below 30 degrees, precipitate ammonium metavanadate, filter, and use 5 % ammonium bicarbonate solution, wash 2-3 times, then wash 1-2 times with 30% ethanol, and dry to obtain pure ammonium metavanadate product.
