The calcium silicon, not called silicified calcium, contains 22 to 35% calcium and 60 to 65% silicon. The YB 525-65 stipulates that the calcium content should not be less than 31%, 28%, and 24% respectively. It is mainly used as the inoculant for cast iron. The reducing ability of the silicon-calcium alloy is very strong and is also used as the deoxidizer for high-quality steel. As a deoxidizer for steel, the silicon-calcium-barium alloy or the silicon-calcium-barium-aluminum alloy, or the silicon-calcium-manganese alloy is mostly used.
