Silicon-barium alloy is an alloy material made by mixing silicon and barium in a certain proportion and melting at high temperatures. It has specific chemical and physical properties and is widely used in many fields. Barium in silicon barium alloy is an alkaline earth metal with a strong affinity for oxygen, so it is often used as a deoxidizer in iron and steel smelting. Silicon barium alloy also has good chemical stability and is not easy to react with other elements. Its melting point is usually lower than that of pure barium because the addition of silicon reduces the melting point of the alloy. There are two main methods for smelting Si-Ba alloy: the one-step smelting method and the two-step smelting method. One-step smelting method is to add barium-containing minerals, silica, coke, steel chips, silicon carbide and other materials to the submerged arc furnace for smelting. The two-step smelting rule is that ferrosilicon is first smelted by a submerged arc furnace, and then ferrosilicon and barium-containing raw materials are added into an intermediate frequency furnace for smelting and refining to obtain barium-silicon alloy.
