Products Description
Silicon metal, also known as industrial silicon or crystalline silicon, is a product made by smelting silica and carbonaceous reducing agents (such as petroleum coke, charcoal, etc.) in a high-temperature ore-fired furnace. The content of its main component, silicon (Si), is usually above 98%, and the remaining impurities mainly include elements such as iron (Fe), aluminum (Al), and calcium (Ca). According to the different contents of these impurities, silicon metal is divided into multiple specifications or grades, among which metallic silicon 2202 is one of them.

The impurity content of silicon metal 2202, such as iron, aluminum, and calcium, is low, usually the iron content does not exceed 0.2%, the aluminum content does not exceed 0.2%, and the calcium content does not exceed 0.02%. This high-purity characteristic makes silicon metal 2202 have excellent physical and chemical properties, such as high melting point, high hardness, high thermal stability, high resistivity, and good oxidation resistance. The production process of silicon metal 2202 includes multiple steps such as extraction, crushing, grinding, beneficiation, smelting and refining of silicon ore. First, silicon ore is extracted from ore or ore sand, and silicon ore powder is obtained through processes such as crushing, grinding and beneficiation. Then, the silicon ore powder is mixed with a reducing agent such as coke and placed in a high-temperature electric furnace for smelting. At high temperatures, the silicon ore and coke react chemically to produce metallic silicon. Finally, through cooling, separation and refining, silicon metal 2202 with high purity is obtained.

After further purification and treatment, silicon metal 2202 can be used to manufacture semiconductor materials such as polycrystalline silicon and monocrystalline silicon. These semiconductor materials are the basic raw materials for the photovoltaic industry and the electronics industry, and are widely used in solar cells, integrated circuits, electronic devices and other fields. Silicon metal 2202 is an important raw material for the preparation of silicon aluminum alloy. Silicon aluminum alloy has excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, and is widely used in aerospace, automobile manufacturing, machinery manufacturing and other fields. Silicon metal 2202 can also be used to produce ferrosilicon alloys. Ferrosilicon alloys are used as deoxidizers and alloy additives in steel smelting, which helps to improve the quality and performance of steel.

Silicon metal 2202 can be used to produce silicone rubber, silicone resin, silicone oil and other organosilicon compounds. These organosilicon compounds have unique physical and chemical properties, such as high and low temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, radiation resistance, corona resistance, hydrophobicity, moisture resistance, non-toxicity, odorlessness and physiological inertness, and are widely used in the fields of sealing, lubrication, bonding, coatings, etc.
