Products Description
The early strength of the over-wet soil improved by calcium carbide slag is close to that of the soil improved by quicklime, while the later strength is 1.05-1.16 times that of the soil improved by quicklime. The fine particle content of carbide slag is about 1.72 times that of quicklime, and the specific surface area is 5 times larger, which can ensure that the contact between carbide slag and soil particles is more complete. The content of active Al and Si components of carbide slag is about 1.71 times that of quicklime, and the pH value of carbide slag improved soil can be maintained at 12.4-12.6 (while the pH value of quicklime improved soil is lower than 12.4), which provides a better alkaline environment for volcanic ash reaction and makes the hydration reaction more durable. At the age of 28 and 120 days, the content of volcanic ash reaction products of carbide slag improved soil is about 1.06 and 1.10 times that of quicklime improved soil, and the sum of the volume percentages of micropores (<0.007 μm) and small pores (0.007-0.900 μm) is about 1.05 and 1.23 times that of quicklime improved soil, respectively, and the structure is more compact.

1.Xonotlite whiskers can be synthesized by hydrothermal synthesis process with carbide slag as calcium carbide source. Carbide slag was pickled with HCl to remove impurities, and other impurities in carbide slag were removed by controlling the pH value of carbide slag slurry and selectively dissolving Ca(OH)2. The impurity content of carbide slag after pickling, as well as the crystal phase composition, micromorphology and temperature resistance of the product were analyzed by ICP, XRD, SEM and DSC-TG. The chemical components in carbide slag were selectively dissolved by controlling the pH value, which could purify the carbide slag and make it a calcium source for preparing xonotlite whiskers. Different pickling pH values, hydrothermal synthesis temperatures and holding times had a great influence on the calcium recovery rate of carbide slag, the impurity removal rate and the morphology of synthesized xonotlite whiskers. The more suitable preparation conditions were: carbide slag pickling pH = 8, hydrothermal synthesis process parameters 220℃ holding time for 20 h. The aspect ratio of the prepared xonotlite whiskers was 100-400, and the maximum use temperature could reach 1000℃.
