Ferrosilicon 70 (FeSi70) is an alloy material with a silicon content of about 70 per cent, consisting mainly of iron and silicon, and usually containing small amounts of carbon, sulphur, phosphorus and other impurities. It is widely used in the metallurgical industry, especially in the production of iron and steel, as a deoxidiser and alloying agent.

ferro silicon 70 uses
1. Steel production: In the steelmaking process, ferrosilicon 70 is commonly used as a deoxidising agent, which can effectively remove the oxygen in the steel, prevent the formation of pores and inclusions in the steel, and improve the purity and quality of the steel.
2. Cast iron production: used as an inoculant and spheroidising agent, to improve the organisational structure of cast iron, improve the mechanical properties and impact resistance of cast iron.
3. Alloy steel production: used as alloying agent to improve the chemical composition of steel, enhance the corrosion resistance, wear resistance and toughness of steel.
4. Other metallurgical applications: Ferrosilicon 70 can also be used in the production of other alloy materials such as silicomanganese and calcium silicate.
Ferro Silicon 70 production process
The production of ferrosilicon 70 is mainly done through the electric furnace smelting process, and the basic flow is as follows:
1. Batching: Prepare iron ore, silica ore (quartz) and reducing agent (coke, charcoal) in proportion.
2. Electric Furnace Smelting: put the matched raw materials into the electric furnace, reduce the iron ore and silicon ore into iron and silicon through high temperature arc, and smelt them to form ferrosilicon alloy.
3. Ingot casting and cooling: the melted ferrosilicon liquid is cast into ingots, and ferrosilicon ingots are obtained after cooling.
4. Crushing and Screening: Crush the ferrosilicon ingot into the required particle size and screen it to get the ferrosilicon 70 products that meet the requirements.
