Ferrophosphorus Granules

Ferrophosphorus is made from a phosphorus furnace system. It is a symbiotic compound containing 20-26% phosphorus and 0.1-6% silicon, which can change the corrosion resistance and chipping properties of steel.

Ferric phosphate is used as an alloying agent in the steelmaking industry and can also be used to produce phosphates. There are two varieties produced in my country, FeP1 and FeP2, containing 15-20% phosphorus.

Phosphorus is a harmful impurity in most steels. But it still has its special role in some situations. For example, adding phosphorus to some types of steel can improve the steel's strength, corrosion resistance and machinability, but can also affect the steel's brittleness.

Adding phosphorus to cast iron can improve the fluidity of molten iron, thereby improving the performance and surface quality of castings; gray cast iron contains 0.5% phosphorus, which can improve its tensile strength. Wear-resistant cast iron contains about 0.15% phosphorus, which can significantly improve its wear resistance.

Ferrophosphorus is a by-product of the steelmaking process and is the result of the transformation of pig iron, which is removed from the side that comes into contact with the slag produced in the process. It is also available as a by-product in phosphorus production.
